LIBS

This section of our website is dedicated to Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) - an emerging area of technology which is finding increasing utility in scientific, industrial and defence applications. Within this section you can find information on how LIBS works, various configurations of LIBS hardware and systems (e.g. Fibre-optic probe, Stand-Off, etc.), typical analysis capabilities of LIBS, and novel applications of LIBS technology. There is also a comprehensive database of scientific publications grouped by each element of interest and conveniently accessible by clicking on the relevant entry in a dynamic Periodic Table. For certain elements, we have included an example of an emission spectrum obtained during LIBS analysis of that element. The database and associated dynamic Periodic Table are not yet fully populated although we hope to have this completed within the next few months.
